Tributes paid to grandmother who died after A286 collision - 'Her family are struggling to come to terms with her sudden loss'

Tributes have been paid to a much loved Haslemere grandmother who died after a collision on the A286 last month.

Surrey Police has today named 75-year-old Carol Smith as the victim of the fatal crash in Haslemere on Friday, February 21.

In a statement, released by the police, Carol's family said she was 'much loved' and will be 'very sorely missed by everyone who knew her'.

They added: “Carol was a much loved grandmother, mother, aunt and sister, and a great friend to many of the residents where she lived.

“She was very involved with her family and her local community.

“Her family are struggling to come to terms with her sudden loss and would like to thank everyone who sent their condolences, flowers and cards."

Midhurst-based firefighters attended the collision between the junction of the A287 and A286 on Bell Road and Midhurst Road.

After the crash, witnesses with any information, including dashcam footage, were asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident reference PR/45200020772
