Paddle-board hire, tours and tuition began in the town when a new concession was launched in early July by TJ Board Hire.

People have been having a spash along the beach at the weekends, but now the summer holidays have arrived, it will be open every day of the week from 8am to 6pm.

Described as an ‘ideal day out for the whole family’, Arun District Council, which runs the seafront and oversees all the concessions, agreed a licence with the company for a trial season to let them ‘test the water’.

Councillor Paul Dendle, Arun District Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Amenities, said: “I am delighted to welcome this new concession to Bognor Regis.

“Paddle-boarding looks like great fun and I’m sure it’ll prove to be a real hit with both residents and visitors!”

Tony Caslin, from TJ Board Hire, said: “We are excited to bring our paddleboarding and kayak hire business to Bognor Regis. As a local family run business, we are pleased to be able to expand from our current base on Chichester canal and offer these fun activities to local people and holiday makers in Bognor Regis.
