Boxers exceeded expectations when they sparred for 105 rounds instead of 100 rounds at the event which was attended by more than 150 people.

Crew Club co-founder Darren Snow, said: “I’ve been personally very much affected by cancer.

“My wife Lorraine has been through cancer treatment and last year one of our young Crew Club members, Darren Moses, passed away as a result of cancer.

“He was just 13-years-old and it was heart-breaking.

“I’m thrilled that we managed to raise so much money for a brilliant cancer charity.”

Ex-amateur boxer Steve O’Brien took part in 50 rounds of sparring.

“The last few years have been really tough for me but The Crew Club gave me much needed support and got me back on my feet,” Steve said.

“I decided to put on this event as I wanted other men to have the opportunity to get fit, have fun, and re-connect with each other.

“I’m so happy that the event went so well, and we raised so much. People were incredibly generous.”
