Vegan Fest Horsham returns – in pictures

With stalls packed full of plant-based treats and cruelty-free goods, Horsham saw the return of its vegan fair in a new market-style outdoor format following the success of the event’s debut last year.

Vegan Fest Horsham took place on Saturday, October 24, in Duke’s Square Car Park and raised more than £1,000 for Animals Asia and Horsham-based Born Free Foundation. Organiser Helen Crabb said: “We had a great day, despite a few bouts of rain and some very strong winds later on in the afternoon, but it didn’t deter people from attending. Of course, the event wasn’t as busy as last year (which was the intention!) but instead we had a steady flow of people all day from start to finish, which made it a more pleasant experience for everyone. All the attendees, volunteers and stallholders could maintain good social distancing throughout and we had a carefully managed one way system around the event, thanks to our wonderful volunteers, which kept everyone safe in the current situation. Our stallholders all had a very successful day, with some selling out or being very close. Others saw it as an excellent PR exercise to promote their business, as a couple of them were only very recently launched. I think most were glad to have an opportunity to attend this sort of event as so many vegan fairs up and down the country have been cancelled during recent months. The event managed to raise in the region of £1,400 (figure to be finalised) for the two nominated charities which we are very pleased with, as charities have really suffered too during the pandemic, due to lack of fundraising opportunities.”
