Veterans mark socially-distanced D-Day in Worthing: in pictures

Veterans have marked D-Day in Worthing, despite the challenges of the current pandemic.

At Worthing Town Hall, a wreath was laid at the Worthing War Memorial and respects were paid for those who lost their lives and took part in the Normandy Landings on June 6, 1944 - 76 years ago. Among those in attendance were Major Ted Hunt MVO, 100, who was driven the short distance from his home to the memorial by the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans. The commemorations were able to take place due to the relaxing of lockdown measures and social distancing was observed. Usually, veterans would travel to France for the commemoriations there, but this has not been possible due to the pandemic.
