VIDEO: County Times Community Awards hails Horsham’s community champions

The annual awards ceremony, hosted at the Capitol in Horsham, celebrated some of the most influential, under-appreciated and colourful characters that make this district such a special place to live.

An inspirational, memorable and heartwarming evening featured some amazing moments.

A long-serving local teacher was described as a ‘rebel’, a ‘maverick’ and ‘certifiably bonkers’.

A true local hero told the tale that made his daughter think of him as a superhero.

And a moving testament to an incredible nurse, which brought tears of happiness to her eyes, summed up the emotion of the evening.

16 individuals or groups were deserving winners at the awards, presented by County Times news editor Theo Cronin.
