Throughout July, those at Westlake House Care Home shared pictures of their beloved pets and encouraged family, friends and members of the community to send in images of their pooches to be judged by residents and staff.

The dogs were entered into different categories which included prettiest pooch, handsome hounds, cutest eyes, and the dogs the judges most wanted to take home which was selected from pictures emailed into the home by members of the public.

Group judging by the dog-loving staff and residents at the home in Pondtail Road took place on Friday, July 31, with entries displayed on a board so the voters could fill out a form to select their winners.

Kate Day, general manager at the home, said: “Thank you to everyone that entered our virtual dog show.

“Our residents have really loved seeing all the pictures arrive! We had so many beautiful entries that choosing the winners was a difficult task.

“A massive thank you again to R&H Pet Supplies for the fantastic prizes they have donated. A good time was had by all.”
