A spokesman for Wakehurst said: “Summer of Sound forms the perfect opportunity to get outside and reconnect with nature, take time off from the pressures of daily life, and discover innovative sonic encounters in Wakehurst’s awe-inspiring terrain.

“Highlights from the brand-new programme include: giant wooden megaphones from Estonian artist Birgit Õigus with a unique surround sound experience where visitors can escape from the everyday and enjoy mesmerising views of the meadows below; and a rare opportunity to experience Wakehurst at night with special live performances, open-fire cooking, and botanical cocktails; and interactive workshops, from identifying birdsong and learning how to ‘talk’ to birds, to ‘deep listening walks.
