Seymour School, in Seymour Road, Broadfield, sent a letter marked Playground Etiquette, home to parents asking to dress appropriately for pick-ups and it added: "Wearing clothes that are too skimpy or for other times of day is not setting a good example.”

The Sun and the Daily Mail both run stories on the letter and reaction to it this weekend.

Lucy Joanne said: "Agree with the whole skimpy thing, I don’t think it’s right to judge parents for wearing pyjamas as long as they’re not revealing... parents are probably struggling to get back into a normal routine because of everything going on at the moment."

Nikki Potter posted: "Parents/people in general wearing pyjamas for a school run, weekly shop or just to pick up a pint of milk is a massive no no to me. Dressing up as if you were having a night out for a school run, weekly shop or a pint of milk to me is unnecessary. Uniform (if you work in a place that makes you wear it) to do any of the above to me is fine. Normal clothes to do any of the above is fine.

"Jeans, leggings (as long as not see through because it looks wrong)? Shorts in the summer also all good. Wearing pyjamas to do a school run or shopping or walk the dog is just laziness. My humble opinion."

Tracey Peters replied: "Completely agree, I'd never wear pj's shopping or school run they are for indoors only! X"
