The Friends of Heene Cemetery were delighted to receive the prestigious award and to be recognised for their dedicated efforts to achieve a balance of nature conservation and heritage respect at the closed cemetery.

A hidden haven in the centre of an urban area, Heene Cemetery, in Manor Road, was one of more than 2,000 green spaces across the country to achieve the Green Flag Award, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
