Worthing Lions were so impressed with a charity Christmas lights display put together by Durrington residents, they made a massive donation to the cause.

The donation of £780 from Worthing Lions Club took the total collected by Saxifrage Way residents for Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance Trust to £5,000.

Lion Lee Milner said: “This wonderful Christmas light display came at zero cost to the town or the local people. The display was put on free in order to bring not only joy to visitors after such a sombre year but to also raise money for the Kent Surrey and Sussex air ambulance.

“Many people visited, enjoyed and donated. The Worthing Lions admired the work and community spirit, and were so impressed that they donated £780, which took the total collected to a staggering £5,000.
