Young Slinfold cyclist, 7, finishes 950 mile bike challenge

A young cyclist from Slinfold has ridden his bike more than 950 miles in just one month.

Lucas Harvey, seven, took on the challenge to raise money in for Diabetes UK in support of his mum Chantelle, who is a type one diabetic.

And now the bike-mad lad has completed his epic challenge – a distance the equivalent of Lands End to John O’Groats.

Chantelle, 30, said: “I’m so proud I don’t even know how to actually explain it.

“His stamina amazes me. He just does it so easily.

“I don’t want to brag but I don’t know any children that could do that.”

Lucas rode 26.4 miles to hit his 950 mile goal but he decided to continue his challenge to the end of April.

Chantelle added: “I’m even prouder in the sense that he still wants to finish – he wants to finish the month.”
