Pet charity holds tea party

NORTHIAM’S Blue Cross Centre is calling on local animal lovers to ‘paws’ for a while and join them for a Tea Party today (Friday) from 1:30pm to 3pm in Northiam Village Hall.

Money raised on the day will help the leading animal charity to care for the homeless pets at their Northiam-based rehoming centre.

In return for a small donation, visitors can tuck into a refreshing cup of tea and some delicious homemade cakes and find out about the work of Blue Cross from its friendly staff and volunteers.

Maria Marmo, centre manager for Blue Cross at Northiam, said: “What nicer way to help raise money for pets in need than by enjoying a cup of tea and some tasty cakes? It’s going be a lovely afternoon and we’d love as many people as possible to come along and join us – every slice of cake we sell will help us to keep even more animals happy and healthy.”

Coronation Street’s William Roache has also written a letter of support, encouraging people to hold their own tea parties

To find out more about the tea party event at Northiam contact the centre on 0300 777 1510 or email [email protected] and why not join the Northiam Blue Cross group Facebook?
