Lt Col Alan Parks (Retd): Just a reminder that the memorial service is being held on Saturday October 11 at St Laurence’s Church, Guestling at 2pm with tea afterwards at the Coastguards Café, Fairlight.

Church Services: on Sunday October 12 – Morning Worship, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30a; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Village Choir: On Monday October 13 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday October 14 POPP will feature Keith Osborne with music entertainment. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Mobile Library: On Wednesday October 15 the Mobile Library will be in Pett and Pett Level. It will start at the Church at 10.10am, moving on to Chick Hill at 10:50am and finishing at The Smuggler at 11.20am.

Pett WI: On Friday October 17 Pett W.I. will welcome again local florist extraordinaire, Jude Robertson with Christmas Flowers. Jude used to own a florist in London and has provided arrangements for royalty as well as St Paul’s Cathedral. She is always amazing to watch! Visitors are always welcome at the meeting, which starts at 2:30pm and, as always, a delicious tea will follow the talk.

Pett Level Naturalist Society: At the Pett Nats meeting on Friday October 17, John Taylor will give a talk entitled ‘Come Into My Parlour’ about, you guessed it, spiders! Visitors and new members are always welcome and the meeting starts at Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm.

Fairlight End Photography: For the first time there will be an opportunity to see photographs taken by Robin Hutt of the garden at Fairlight End as well as the chance to look around and photograph the garden for yourself in the autumn. The garden and studio will be open between 11am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday October 18 & 19 and Friday, Saturday and Sunday October 24, 25 and 26. All are very welcome. Fairlight End is opposite The Two Sawyers pub on Pett Road.
