Sunday May 4 – Holy Communion, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am led by David Wotton; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

On Monday May 5 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

POPP on Tuesday May 6 will feature Keith Osborne and Music for Health with Antonella Bruce available to give head and shoulder massages. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Where can you go and be spoilt by the choice of tempting cakes each month? Not to mention Phil’s famous sausage rolls? The Village Coffee Morning of course!

The next one is Wednesday May 7 from 10am till noon in Pett Village Hall. New faces are always sure of a warm welcome from Sally and her team and if you haven’t been for a while, then come and have a chat – they would love to see you!

Christian Aid Week runs from May 11 to 17 and as usual Pett and Pett Level will be making a significant contribution, starting with a fund raising Coffee Morning on Saturday May 10, from 10am to 12noon at Paxstead, Pett Road. There will be plants, cakes, bring & buy and a raffle as well as the sale of Traidcraft goods.

There will be a special Christian Aid service on Sunday May 11 and a House-to-House envelope collection from May 11 to 17 so please contribute to this worthy cause.

On Monday May 12 Pett Village Hall Management Committee is holding its AGM at 7:30pm in Pett Village Hall. Are you a hall user? Then come along and provide valuable feedback to the Committee.

Could the hall be used more effectively? What could be done better? Do you feel you could make a contribution to the committee? New committee members are always welcome so if you are interested, just come along to the AGM or contact the Committee Chair Ray Barden, details in Pett Parish News.

Tickets are going fast for the Pett Big Village Lunch & Feast of Puddings, a joint venture between Pett Church and Pett WI, which is being held on Sunday June 1, from 12:30 to 4pm at Pett Village Hall.

You provide your main course, drink, glass plate, knife and fork whilst the organisers provide salads, bread, a feast of puds AND live music from the Martin Blackman Band. Tickets are just £5 and children under 14 go free, although they must sill obtain a ticket. You can get your ticket from Pett Post Office or The Butcher’s Shop.

The Pett Piranhas are back for 2014! This is the junior section of Pett Cricket Club and welcomes all young cricketers, of any level, in Year 6 or below. Training sessions are from 5pm on Tuesdays at Pett Recreation Ground and this year they have both league and friendly fixtures throughout the summer months. Membership fees of £15 cover the season and include a club training t-shirt with each session £1. For more information, contact Stuart on 07971662068.

Having been looked after during the closed season, Pett Bowls Club opened its green on April 12 and welcomed several new members. If you are interested in becoming a member, why not go along to a ballot afternoon from 1:45pm on Mondays? You can have a try and a chat.
