The Jumble Sale held for the ‘Friends of Pett Church’ on Saturday March 8th, raised £621. This is a magnificent total and the most they have ever made. A little more should come in after the sale of left-over clothing.Thanks go to all who contributed and participated in any way.It was a tremendous community effort and everyone was in good spirits.

Church Services on Sunday March 16 – the Book of Common Prayer Communion Service, St Nicholas, Pett Level at 8:00am with Kay Burnett; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

On Monday March 17 in Pett Methodist Chapel, the Village Choir will meet at 7:30pm.

POPP on Tuesday March 18 will provide its own entertainment. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Also on Tuesday March 18 Pett Parish Council will be holding the Annual Parish Meeting at 7pm in Pett Village Hall. Among the items that will be discussed are the Community Speedwatch Scheme and the future of the Post Office.

This meeting is open to all so come and have your say on anything that is important to you about Pett or Pett Level.

On Wednesday March 19 the Mobile Library will be in Pett and Pett Level. It will start at the Church at 10.10am, moving on to Chick Hill at 10:50am and finishing at The Smuggler at 11.20am.

On Friday March 21, Pett W.I. will welcome Jude Harrison who will be giving a talk about the Family Support Network. This organisation’s aim is to provide support for families who have additional needs, to help them achieve a normal standard of living. This could be simple babysitting or complex help.

This promises to be an interesting talk from a local speaker and visitors are always welcome. The meeting starts at 2:30pm and the talk will be followed by a delicious tea.

Also on Friday March 21 the Pett Naturalist Society will be holding its AGM and then Alan Kenworthy will be talking about Moths and Dragons. Meetings start at 7:30 pm at Pett Village Hall and are always finished by 9:15pm. Annual membership is £5 per year and 50p per meeting, with visitors paying £2 per meeting.

Pett Methodist Chapel is holding a Lent Quiet Day on Saturday March 22 from 10:30am to 3pm, exploring writing about “Beginning over again” using the Psalms. All are welcome.
