Church Services on Sunday June 2 – Coronation and Holy Communion – David Wootton, St Mary and St Peter, Pett at 11am.

POPP on Tuesday June 4 - Remembering the Coronation with Carol Mellor. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5. Last month there were homemade date slices, Viennese fingers with a lovely lime drizzle together with the regular coffee cake, chocolate devil cake and Victoria sandwich. To say nothing of the famous sausage rolls by our dear butcher Phil! What will there be this month? But the most important thing is all the supporters, who always turn up with cheerful smiles and make it all worthwhile! New faces are always welcome and if you have not been for a while then do pop in to the village coffee morning on Wednesday June 5, 10am till12pm at Pett Village Hall. Come and have a chat – you will be very welcome.

On Thursday June 6 Flicks in the Village will be showing Hyde Park on Hudson, which is based upon true story of how in 1939 President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (Academy Award nominee Bill Murray) and his wife Eleanor (Olivia Williams) hosted the King and Queen of England (Samuel West and Olivia Colman) for a weekend at the Roosevelt home at Hyde Park on Hudson, in upstate New York – the first-ever visit of a reigning English monarch to America. With Britain facing imminent war with Germany, the Royals are desperately looking to FDR for support. But international affairs must be juggled with the complexities of FDR’s domestic establishment, as wife, mother, and mistresses all conspire to make the royal weekend an unforgettable one. The film starts at 7:30pm with refreshments served from 7pm. Membership forms are available on the night or you can always pop into the butcher’s shop in Pett and grab an application form.
