Pett Village Hall: There are still one or two spaces left for the Car Treasure Hunt around Pett and the surrounding villages on Sunday September 13. Starting at 9:30am from Pett Village Hall and ending there, tickets cost £12 per car and include a soup-and-roll lunch. For more details, please contact Heather Godwin, [email protected].

Church Services: On Sunday September 13 – Flower Festival Songs of Praise, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am, led by Merial Deasy. Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Village Choir: On Monday September 14 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: Please note that on Tuesday September 15 there will be NO POPP meeting.

Pett Parish Council: On Tuesday September 15 Pett Parish Council will meet in Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm.

Pett WI: On Friday September 18, Pett W.I. will welcome Heather Goodsell who will speak about Hedge and Herb. This will also be something of a special meeting as WI Centenary day is just two days before on September 16. Needless to say, Pett WI will be doing something special to celebrate this!

The meeting starts at 2:30pm and will be followed by a delicious tea and visitors are welcome.

Harvest Home: Well it’s that time of year again! As we move into September we remember the latter half of 1951 when the nation was saddened by the tragic loss with all hands of a small Hull trawler. In response to a national appeal, Reg Cooke, who was Secretary of the Beach Club and also Auxiliary In Charge of the Pett Coastguards, organised a small bring and buy sale. The local Coastguards and regulars of the New Beach Club have continued this tradition ever since with the annual Harvest Home, although now all proceeds go to support the lifeboats in Hastings and Rye.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday September 26 at the New Beach Club, starting at 7:30pm until all items are sold. Items such as garden produce or white elephant welcome but no electrical items, jumble or large items. They can be left on your doorstep on the day of September 26, when they will be collected by the Harvest Home volunteers. Donations from further afield can be dropped in on the day. Your support is always welcome at the event itself and you may even go home with a bargain!
