Pett and Pett Level

Rother District Council: Well now that the dust has settled after Election Day, Marsham, which covers Fairlight, Guestling and Three Oaks and Pett and Pett Level, has a new District Councillor, Chris Saint. Chris joins Roger Bird, who was re-elected and together they will represent the interests of Marsham residents.

Pett WI: Don’t forget the meeting on Friday May 15 at 2:30pm at Pett Village Hall. It is the Annual Resolution meeting and there is also a Bring and Buy sale.

Pett Nats: Also, don’t forget the Pett Nats meeting, on May 15 at Pett Village Hall. Starting at 7:30pm the speaker is Richard Thompson, giving an update on Mallydams Wildlife Hospital.

Church Services: On Sunday May 17 –Holy Communion, St Nicholas, Pett Level at 8: 00am. There will be a Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Village Choir: On Monday May 18 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday May 19 POPP will feature Alison Bowler with Seated Dance Exercise. The session runs from 10:30am to 2pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Mobile Library: The next visit will be on Tuesday May 19 when it will stop outside Pett Church from 12:05pm until 12:35pm.

Pett Parish Council: Also on Tuesday May 19 Pett Parish Council will meet in Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm. This will be the first meeting of the newly elected council, which includes five new councillors.

Lighting the Beacons: All over Sussex beacons will be lit on the evening of May 23 to celebrate the birth of the Christian Church. It will also be a celebration of the start of the new Diocesan strategy for vision and growth.

Everyone is invited to witness the beacon lighting at Fairlight and there should be a good view from the footpath at the side of Pett Church. The next day (May 24) there will be a celebration picnic at St Peter’s Church in Fairlight. The plan is to bring your own picnic and children will be very welcome.
