Pett and Pett Level

Mobile Library: First of all apologies for the incorrect information about the Mobile Library in last week’s edition. One of my loyal readers brought me up to date and the library now comes to Pett every three weeks instead of every two. It also stops on a Tuesday instead of a Wednesday. The next visit will be on Tuesday 3 February 2015 when it will stop outside Pett Church from 12:05pm until 12:35pm. There will be a reminder nearer the time.

Stir Crazy Stitchers: This wonderful local group, based in Pett Level and Fairlight, would like to say a big thank you to the people of Pett and Pett Level who have once again supported their fund raising efforts. Whether it was by donating fabrics and haberdashery to the cause or purchasing the end product, without them the group would not have been so successful. Last year they were able to make donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Pett Level Rescue Boat, British Heart Foundation, The Stroke Association, Macmillan Cancer Support and the defibrillator machine to be installed at the New Beach Club.

Church Services: On Sunday January 25 – Holy Communion, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Village Choir: On Monday January 26 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday January 27 POPP will feature Annie Cryer and Tai Chi. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Pett 500 Club: Have you thought about an annual subscription to the 500 Club, which helps to raise money for the maintenance of the Village Hall? The club aims to have a maximum of 500 members at an annual cost of £12. There is a monthly draw at Flicks, with a first prize of £150 and second of £100 per month (or pro-rata based on the number of tickets sold).

An application is available from any Village Hall Committee member, or collected from the Butcher’s Shop, Pett.
