Petworth’s Leconfield Hall leads the way thanks to funding

THE LECONFIELD Hall has moved into the 21st century thanks to funding from the Petworth Film House.

Wi Fi has been installed giving users of the hall fast internet access.

Chairman of the hall trustees Andrew Henderson said: “This is an important step forward for the hall, as mobile signals are poor in Petworth, and internet on phones and tablets was painfully slow.”

The work was carried out and paid for by Petworth Film House, which has shown films in the hall since 2012 and has already helped with insulation works in the roof.

At the outset, the group installed a high quality projector, a wide screen, and a cinema quality sound system in the hall.

Mr Henderson added: “The hall is extremely grateful to the Film House.

“They have not only funded improvements, but have initiated and carried them out, too.

“Even though the Leconfield Hall gets heavy use by many organisations, it is always difficult to maintain and improve this Grade II listed building from hiring income alone.”

The Film House is hoping to install a satellite dish so they can show live sporting events and opera.
