Pevensey and Pevensey Bay

PARISH COUNCIL INFORMATION DAY: This annual event will be held at St Wilfrids Church Hall Pevensey Bay and also the Baptist Church on April 23rd this year. The reason for two venues? There are simply many groups in Pevensey Bay, there are now 41, who will be attending and have stalls and be able to tell you about themselves and how to get involved in whats going on. If you want any further info contact [email protected] or else just turn up starting at 10am

CLEAN UP FOR QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY: Pevensey’s joining in the National campaign to clean up for the Queen’s 90th birthday, Its been decided that 5th March is the day, so if you feel like tidying the village and getting rid of some of the litter then turn up at Sea Road Car Park at 11am. But do let the Parish Clerk on pevenseypc@btconnect,com know you are coming, On the other hand if you are a motorist and have visited one of the fast food outlets outside the village then throw your litter away properly, not just out the car window. Sadly our pavements are littered with many coffee cups and boxes emblazoned with well known emblems!

VEHICLES OF YESTERYEAR: This popular event, sponsored by the Parish Council will be taking place on Saturday April 2nd at the Sea Road Car Park. If you want to see a display of historical vehicles and browse some autojumble stalls theng ot along.

SEA DEFENCES: Do you remember the old sea defences? Some of them are reappearing in the Bay as winter storms wash sand and shingle away revealing the wooden stakes running at right angles to the groynes. They used to be part of the defences on a lot of the beaches but have obviously been hidden rather like the remains of a quay for coal barges which the winter storms unearthed near the Redoubt several years ago. Just goes to show the power of the Sea.

PEVENSEY PARISH COUNCIL: Have moved into the digital age! There is now a Pevensey Parish Council Facebook Page. Just type the name into the search bar and you will find out info and news from the Parish Council. Even better click the like button!
