Pevensey ready to bloom at flower festival with exciting Summer Fete

PEVENSEY’S popular and long-established Flower Festival this year takes place on Bank Holiday Weekend, August 25 to 27.

Beautiful flower arrangements will illustrate the theme ‘The Musicals: a Song from the Heart’, celebrating God’s gifts of Music and Imagination, and will look their best in the historic church building, now approaching its 800th anniversary. The church will be open each day from 10am to 6pm with musical interludes, and refreshments throughout the day.

On the Saturday (August 25) the Summer Fete takes place beside Pevensey Memorial Hall.

Starting at 11am, the fete will have something for all the family with stalls, refreshments, a barbecue, with dancing displays in the hall. There will be a chance to win £100 in the Summer Draw.

On the Sunday (August 26) the festival Holy Communion takes place at 11am with a traditional service from the Book of Common Prayer led by the Rev Canon Geoffrey Baulcombe. The choir will lead the singing, and the church bells will ring before the service.
