Joining the band to mark the milestone of a quarter of a century of making music will be guests, the THS (Littlehampton Academy) Steel Band and the Batala Portsmouth Samba Band.

l Next week’s Gazette will carry a special feature tracing the band’s history from its early days, when it was re-formed in 1988, as the Littlehampton Town Band, about 36 years after its predecessor was literally disbanded.

The revived band was to have led the carnival parade, but quickly found itself out of step with that idea and lost its town council grant.
