Tana Jackson was awarded a small arts grant by the Adur and Worthing Trust to create the piece, called The Picnic.

It will be on show in the Worthing Museum garden until Saturday, having been exhibited at Henry House, in Heene Road, during the summer holidays.

“The sculpture has been very well received and people of all ages have had their photo taken with the family,” said Tana.

“The sculpture is interactive and visitors are invited to sit on the grass next to the purple frisbee, and have their photo taken with Alastair, Jan and little Susie Carter.”

It is made from plastic pallets, covered in artificial grass, and shop mannequins dressed in clothing treated with a fabric hardener to make it weatherproof.

Tana added: “I am seeking a permanent home for it after October 24. The sculpture is free as it has already been paid for by the trust. It is weatherproof and is therefore suitable for a location outdoors. It would also sit well in a location that was indoors.”

Telephone Tana on 07732 382513 to find out more.
