Picnic time for teddy bears at St Mary Magdalene

To be sure of a big surprise - St Mary Magdalene's Church Hall in Bexhill was the place to be last Thursday.

Every bear that ever there was, and a few miscellaneous dogs and rabbits, had gathered there for the Teddy Bears' picnic for September's new reception class.

Some 25 children and their mummies, daddies and grandparents enjoyed a fantastic party hosted by Father Chris Spain.

The sumptuous picnic was provided by Vicky Cumming-Bart and the entertainment by Uncle Bumble.

Miss Mulhern, reception teacher at St Mary Magdalene's Roman Catholic Primary School, was delighted to be able to meet so many of her new class.

She said "It has been an excellent chance for us to all get to know each other and I am looking forward to welcoming them all in September."
