Young people, youth workers and campaigners demonstrated against an 80 per cent proposed cut to a £450,000 pot of funding that supports 11 youth work charities in the city.

Brighton and Hove City Council said it needs to make savings because of reduced funding from central government.

Adam Muirhead, projects manager at the Trust for Developing Communities, said: “The City’s young people aren’t going to take this lying down. These cuts will negatively affect their futures at a time when being young is already harder than it’s been for generations.”
