PICTURE:Pheasant wanders through Worthing town centre

Rachael Boote was walking through town with her nine-year-old son Billy, on Friday, February 22, when she spotted what she initially thought was a chicken.

She said: "Some young lads thought it was a fox, but it turned out to be a male pheasant.

"There didn't seem to be any of the usual hoards of seagulls and pigeons around, maybe they felt under-dressed.

"My son tried to make a video of it but the poor thing was camera shy."

Rachael took this photograph of the pheasant, which wandered around town at around 1pm, but has not seen him again.
