Carlotta Luke, who has been capturing the restoration of the 16th-century site since Cheesmur Building Contractors started work last May, will display some of her images in the bar of Pelham House from tomorrow (March 1) to April 11.

She was commissioned by East Sussex County Council, which took possession of Southover Grange following a land swap with Lewes District Council in 2014 and is completely refurbishing the building, to document the project.

Also on show at the St Andrew’s Lane hotel will be a range of landscape prints from printmaker Karen Potter, who became hooked on printmaking about 25 years ago.

Her exhibition, titled ‘Reflections between Sea and Land’, will be on display in the hotel’s reception and atrium.

The two displays will follow Pelham House’s free Open Art Exhibition, which finishes today (February 28). It started on January 18 and includes pieces from more than 40 artists and a percentage of the funds raised through the artworks sold will be donated to the children’s charity Rockinghorse.

Carlotta and Karen’s work will be free to see from 9am to 9pm; pieces will be available to buy through reception.
