The money raised on the day was very close to the total amount needed to buy three-year-old Harry Ragless a specialist trike.

He has spina bifida, causing limited feeling in his feet, so he is unable to use a normal bicycle or scooter.

Parents Steve and Selina Ragless, of Sompting Road, tried various types without success but found a £1,720 Tomcat trike that will give Harry the support he needs.

Mum Selina said: “I was gobsmacked to see how many people turned up.

“The day was nothing but truly spectacular. I am so truly shocked at how well it went.

“The total raised was £1,688.17, an absolutely staggering amount. We are truly shocked and overwhelmed. Our boy will get his trike! I cannot tell you what it means to us.”
