The Southdowns Folk Festival for 2016, held across the weekend, saw the event head to the streets for the first time.

Having previously always been in Hotham Park, organiser Roger Nash said it was a ‘different’ but brilliant offering.

He said: “There were very few problems, all the concerts were well received and we had music workshops going on all around the town which were great.”

While Mr Nash added: “The real ale festival went really well, the community choirs on the Sunday were brilliant and the market was well supported.”
