ENTRANTS in this year’s Worthing International Birdman dressed in weird and wonderful costumes for their big leap from the pier.
Peter Coppinger-Parker, 48, from Danehill, and Lee De la Rue Browne, 43, of Haywards Heath, proved they both had the “force” when they entertained crowds on Worthing beach by jumping as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.
Peter said: “This was our first time jumping in Worthing.
“It’s a wonderful place and we had a brilliant day out.
“I think our light-saber duel was a real hit with some of the crowds.”
The pair raised more than £1,000 for Guild Care’s Ashdown Centre, in Ashdown Road, Worthing.
