ARE WE IN INDIA?: After a glorious few days of proper June temperatures, we were suddenly transported into the monsoon season. Wonderful for crops but not so wonderful for the immediate growth of unwanted weeds. My pigs had totally cleared an area of ground and, horror of horrors, after the rain, it has become the National Collection of every weed under the sun. More Herculean tasks in store. Amazingly, amongst this plethora of weeds, a large number of tomato plants have emerged. Never planted there, presumably we must give thanks to the pigs.

SMILE FOR THE DAY: First palaeontologist: Wonderful news, a new dinosaur has been discovered in Canada. Curiously it only has one eye socket and therefore had only one eye.

Second palaeontologist: That’s a first. What are they going to name it? First palaeontologist: Idontthinkitsaurus.
