The event was used as a talent- spotting opportunity for potential young athletes to try out for the Sussex Youth Games athletics team.

Arun has won the athletics trophy for the last two years, competing against teams from 12 other local authorities, and is looking to put forward another strong team for the competition in Crawley on June 16.

Arun District Council wants to thank the 23 helpers on the day who included local qualified coaches, junior sports leader awards students from Bognor Regis Community College, other local volunteers and especially the head athletics coach, Jane Merritt.
