Pillion rider dies

A man who died as a result of a motorcycle accident has been named.

William Polley (21) of Charmandean Road, Worthing, was a pillion passenger when the motorcycle collided with a Ford Fiesta on the A272 on Sunday at 1.44pm.

Mr Polley died at the scene and the rider of the motorcycle was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester with serious injuries.

The road was closed for three hours while the collision was investigated. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Fringe.
