Plan to improve Valley Ponds area in Newhaven

A new management plan is being introduced at Valley Ponds in Newhaven to improve it for wildlife and visitors.

During the coming months Newhaven Town Council will remove dead and decaying tree branches, plant new trees, clear brambles and nettles from the third pond and clear reed growth from the culverts to ensure water can flow from one pond to another.

The council will also allow the grass to grow long to protect baby toads in the summer.
