Preparations have begun for a number of events over the summer in Hailsham - which promise to be ‘bigger and better than ever.’
Hailsham Town Council’s Festivities and Events committee is busy planning three different community events.
A spokesman said many of the details are yet to be confirmed but the line up will include market fetes on June 27, July 25 and August 29.
The events will have themes including children’s, war time and continental.
There will be market stalls in the town centre for each event selling a wide range of local fine food and gifts. Entertainment acts are being scheduled.
Deputy Town Mayor and vice-chairman of the committee, Cllr Amanda O’ Rawe said: “Summer 2015 will be an exciting time for Hailsham and I’m delighted to be part of organising the festivities scheduled.
“This year, we wanted to do something bigger and better than ever and therefore decided to organise three summer town events, each taking on a different theme.
“While only some of the arrangements are in place, we are confident that the summer market fetes will be well received by the public and offer fun for the whole family.”
Cllr Chriss Triandafyllou, chairman of the committee added: “These three events will bring energy and atmosphere to the town and our main aim is to work with partner organisations to establish community led festivities which benefit the residents of Hailsham, whilst supporting local traders and increasing the footfall in the town.”
