PLANNING: Harbour’s hub proposal for town’s fishermen

The new ‘hub’ would be provided alongside the River Arun at Quayside, off Bridge Road.

Plans for the scheme are among the latest planning applications submitted to Arun District Council in the Gazette area, which also include:

ARUNDEL: rear single-storey extension and one skylight window (this application affects the character and appearance of the Arundel conservation area), 2 Surrey Wharf.

Insertion of a top-hung Velux conservation roof window on the south-facing slope (this application affects the character and appearance of the Arundel conservation area), 12 Tarrant Street. Further application for listed building consent to replace roof.

Extend and remodel porch (this application affects the character and appearance of the Arundel conservation area), The Roundhouse, Mount Pleasant.

Change of use from two flats to one dwelling, with loft conversion, two east-facing dormer windows, 
two-storey rear extension, raise roof of the altered entrance hallway, replace 16 windows with white PVCu, render external walls with off-white/cream finish and garage alterations (re-submission following AB/48/14/PL – this application affects the character and appearance of the Arundel conservation area), Stone Court, King Street.

EAST PRESTON: conversion of eight single garages into four holiday apartments, rear of 115-117 Sea Road.

FORD: steplift, concrete platform, handrails and
brick upstand to side access door, 19 The Willows, Ford Road.

LITTLEHAMPTON: change of use of launderette to an apartment (this application affects the character and appearance of the Littlehampton seafront conservation area), Washer Woman, 16 Western Road.

Change of use of residential institution to form three two-bedroom flats (re-submission following LU/207/14/PL), 13 Fitzalan Road.

Change of use of brownfield site to commercial fisherman’s hub, to include new pier and gangway, new pontoons, groundworks and infill to level resurface site for parking and open storage, to include run service ducting, surface water drainage, concrete hardstanding for landing area and jetty, retaining wall and access gate, Quayside.

Removal of one door and five windows for installation of roller shutter doors, Unit 31, Lineside Industrial Estate, 13 Eldon Way.

Two externally-illuminated fascia signs on front elevation, one externally-illuminated hanging sign on front elevation, two floodlights on front elevation and three non-illuminated hoarding signs to front elevation, The Locomotive, 74 Lyminster Road.

WALBERTON: use of land for two semi-detached dwellings to replace two flats and associated landscape works (re-submission following WA/14/14/PL), 1 and 2 Stafford Cottages, Yapton Lane.

YAPTON: retention of replacement windows, 17 Loveys Road.
