Plans to turn former bar into a nursery

A former bar and function room could be given a new lease of life as a nursery, if a community group gets its way.

The Pebsham Community Association has submitted a planning application to Rother District Council to enable the association to turn the disused space at the Pebsham Community Centre, in Seabourne Road, into a childcare facility.

The plans include the main nursery room, a sleep room, kitchen, store and toilets.

If planning permission is granted, the nursery would open Monday to Friday, 8am until 6pm.

The proposals also include moving the side entrance to allow access to the new nursery.

Rother District Council’s planning committee will make a decision on the plans at a later date.
