PLANS: Yapton pub ripe for conversion, with church

PRAYERS and hymns could soon replace the pints and halves once served at a closed-down Yapton pub.

The Olive Branch, in North End Road, would undergo its own conversion, to five flats, while a Gospel Hall is also proposed on the site, together with garages with a further flat above.

It’s not clear which congregation would be moving to the Gospel Hall, but Hugo van Driel, pastor of Yapton Free Church, which meets opposite the pub, said his church was not involved.
