It would seem that these extremes of weather are the manifestation of the global warming. High temperatures followed by storms are much more likely. As are much colder winters.

Aren’t the nights already noticeably drawing in?

Although not actually Playden, there is news of the Rye Hospital. A merger is planned between the two fundraising bodies. The League of Friends and the Hospital’s Fund Raising Group of the Hospital Management Board will be merged to become The Friends of the Hospital at Rye. There is to be an Extraordinary General Meeting on Tuesday 20th August at 3pm in the Community Centre, Conduit Hill, Rye, to discuss and vote on the proposal. There will be an address by Chris Fairman, Chairman of the League of Friends followed by an address by Barry Nealon, Chairman of the Hospital Board.

Funds are vital to support the provision of specialist equipment at the Hospital.

The Playden Floral Group will be having a Garden Meeting on Monday 5th August at 2.15pm.

The 11am service for the 10 Sunday after Trinity will be a Family Service led by the Vicar, Rev Teresa Munro.
