Playden village voice

Has anyone seen any March lions roaring about? Or any mad March hares?As it is so mild now, what is the betting that August will be cold and wet?

The Mobile Library will be at Poppyfield on Monday from 11.30 to 11.50 am.

Playden Floral Group will be meeting in the W. I. Hall at 2.15 pm to hear about the Flowers in May at Great Dixter. This is also on Monday.

On Monday 5th March - beware the ides - Rye and District Camera Club will be meeting in the Playden W/ I. Hall at 7.30 pm for a Club Competition meeting.

Bookings can now be taken for the Friends of Playden Church Quiz and Fish and Chip night, to be held on Saturday 31st March at 7.30 pm in the W. I. Hall. Tickets will be £7.50, bring your own tipple, cutlery and condiments. Teams of 4 preferred. Please phone Jill on 22 32 11 or me on 22 26 15.

Please save your used ink cartridges from printers and bring them to the box in the porch of the church. These donated items provide an income for the church which is especially welcome now that the paper shed no longer functions. Thanks are offered to all those kind people who have donated their papers over the years.

Weekday services are at 9.30 am - Morning Prayer, and 3.30 pm - Evening Prayer.

Mothering Sunday is a Family service on 18th March.

The 11 am service this Sunday for the second Sunday in Lent is a Family service led by the vicar.
