Wave Leisure is appealing for people to take part in the fourth Seahaven Para Games on Sunday August 10 at Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford.

The leisure centre company has appointed transport partners and secured funding to enable it to provide free transport for participants who need assistance to attend the event.

East Sussex Disability Association (ESDA) Coaches and Community Transport for the Lewes Area (CTLA) will be managing transportation for the day.

Entry and transport are free as the games are funded by the Community Games initiative through Active Sussex, the Rotary Club of Seaford, Sainsbury’s (Newhaven Harbour) and the Wave Leisure Trust Inspiring Active Lifestyles Community Fund.

The programme runs from 10am until 4pm with five sporting activities plus a buffet lunch.

Activities will include archery, new age kurling, table tennis, boccia, bowls and the wheelchair slalom.

The event is supported by Seaford Kurlers, Blind Veterans UK and Seaford Head Table Tennis Club.

Wave Leisure can take a maximum of 40 participants on the day and wants participants, if required, to be accompanied by a carer at all times.

Transport and transport support requirements can be booked at the time of registering.

The event is seeking to continue the legacy of the successful London 2012 Paralympic Games.
