Plea for return of painting

The painting, a specially commissioned picture of the Strand area of Rye by well known artist Richard Adams was stolen from a vehicle outside Vidlers Court and the Ship Inn on the Strand on Saturday afternoon. The picture is approximately A1 size.

Created in chalk pastels, it depicts the Rye Citadel area seen fom Strand Quay with circling seagulls.

Richard Adams recently had an exhibition of his work showing at Rye Art Gallery, which sold out.

Neale is desperate to get the painting back and said: “If seen about Rye, for sale, or if anybody has any information please contact Sussex Police ref ER3/029525/11 or please get back to me on [email protected].”
