Plea to take in '˜roving' kittens from Felpham cattery

A HEARTFELT plea to help to find two furry friends a new home has been made.

Six-month-old kittens Bunny and Jasmine, who have travelled all the way from Romania are in desperate need of a cat basket they can call their own.

The purr-fect pair are currently staying at the Better Boarding Cattery in Felpham, after they were rescued by the World Animals Friends charity.

Sister-in-laws Robbie and Paula Knight, who own the cattery, have been looking after the kittens for the last ten days, but feel it is time the pair found a permanent home.

Paula said: “About two months ago we were contacted by the charity who asked if we would be willing, during our quiet time to take in rescued cats and find them new homes.

“We immediately said yes. We were then contacted and told by the charity who said they had two kittens coming over by ambulance and would we be willing to take them in.”

Along with 12 dogs for company, the kittens made the two day journey in a specially modified pet ambulance to Brighton, where they were picked up by Paula and Robbie.

“They really have settled in. They would make lovely pets for anyone, it doesn’t matter if you are a family or, perhaps, an elderly person wanting some company as long as you can provide a good home,” said Robbie.

Paula and Robbie, have run their successful business for 25 years and say they are glad to be able to give something back.

“If doing this helps just one cat find a happy and loving home then it is all worth it. It is our chance to give something back and we are happy to do it,” said Paula.

Both of the fluffy creatures have their very own personalities, Bunny is very outgoing while Jasmine is a little bit shier.

The kittens have received their vaccinations and have their own pet passports. They can either be adopted as a pair or individually.

Not a lot is known about the pair’s history. Jasmine was rescued by the charity after she was dumped along with her sister and Bunny’s past is a mystery.

There will be a £70 adoption fee which goes straight back to the World Animals Friends to help them continue their work, in helping other animals.

Anyone interested in providing a good home should contact the cattery on 01243 823150.
