JUMBLE SALES: Are a very popular way of raising funds for village organisations. However, please can everyone planning a sale note that jumble sale organisation is nothing to do with the Women’s Institute. All the helpers at the jumble sales are simply willing volunteers from the village. From experience a minimum or 30 helpers are required to run the jumble sales in the afternoon and a large number to sort jumble in the mornings. Once a booking is made Jane Donovan, the village hall co-ordinator, will give the organiser a plan of the traditional way in which tables are set out (there is also a copy in the main hall) and also a Protocol for running a jumble sale. It is the responsibility of each organisation to ensure they have enough helpers on the day so please bear this in mind in the planning stages and ensure your organisation has enough volunteers for the sale to run smoothly and be successful.
