Plumpton plans to mark anniversary of the Battle of Lewes

Plans to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the Battle of Lewes will be discussed at a meeting in Plumpton Village Hall on Wednesday (September 11).

Initial ideas include a service at Plumpton Cross, dedication of a new memorial stone and a church service with medieval music at St Michael’s, a medieval fayre, a meal with a 1264 menu, a guided historical walk to Plumpton Cross, a children’s Morris and more.
