Poems selected

BEXHILL College students Alex Hunt and Clarence Shirky have had their poems selected for publication.

Their work will be featured in Away With Words, an anthology of poems written by students from schools and colleges from across East and West Sussex.

Their poems '“ Soul Cry and Life! '“ were selected from six entries from Bexhill College's Creative Writing Enrichment programme and are printed on the first and second page, appearing alongside entries from students from Claverham Community College, Battle, and Bishop Bell CE School, Eastbourne.

Bexhill College's Creative Writing Programme is part of the enrichment programme.

Budding authors and playwrights can develop their writing skills, present their works to their peers and hone their writing for competition and publication with a view to building a 'working' portfolio.

As the first competition entered through the programme, Bexhill College is delighted to have two students selected for publication in Away With Words.

The competition, now in its 16th year, publishes anthologies representing areas spanning the entire British Isles.
