FRIDAY CRAFT GROUP: Our craft group goes from strength to strength. If you are interested to learn how to knit, crotchet, make cards, cross stitch, embroider, quilting, then this is the group for you. Or if you have a craft that you can teach others, new people are always welcome. You can just sit and chat if you want to. We charge £1 which includes tea and coffee. Just come along between 10am to 1pm at Polegate Community Centre.

WHIST: Friday Whist Club meets in the lounge at Polegate Community Centre from 2pm to 4pm. Pop along and join us its only £3 per session.

COFFEE MORNING: Tomorrow, Saturday, the coffee morning is hosted by Polegate Ladies Circle. All welcome in the lounge from 10am to noon.

WALKS: Tomorrow, Saturday, Some of the Sisters, 4.5 miles with Esther and John. Meet at Seven Sisters Country Park bus stop at 10am, GR 518995 bus 12X Terminus Road Stand J. Walk finishes at East Dean, leaders at start. On Wednesday, Upper Reaches of the Cuckmere, a half day walk, 5 miles with Graham T. Meet at Eastbourne Railway Station for the 9.55am train to Berwick railway station where the walk will start. Refreshment stop at Arlington Tea Gardens, some stiles, level walking. On Saturday March 26, include A Ship, A Head and Golf Club, 5 miles with Irene H. Meet at the Cuckmere Inn car park at 10am bus 12X, 9.33am Terminus Road stand J. Coffee stop on beach at Seaford. Or, Arlington Idyll, 8 miles with Sue T. Walk starts at Berwick Inn car park, 9.30am GR 526067. Pub lunch optional.

SPRING SHOW: Polegate Gardeners Society Spring Show is tomorrow, Saturday, at Polegate Community Centre from 2pm to 4pm. Not just flowers but also cookery, liquors, arts and crafts.

BOOKINGS: Now taking bookings for Thomas events at the Spa Valley Railway. We are open again at Easter or if you fancy driving and engine, on March 19. Easter Specials are running from Friday March 25 to Monday March 28 inclusive. Look out for the Easter bunnies and eggs for children. LOCAL HISTORY: Eastbourne Local History Society next on Tuesday when our speaker is Elizabeth Hughes talking about the Secrets of the Keep, the record office at the Keep, Brighton. Doors open at 1.45pm at All Souls Church Hall, Wellesley Road, Eastbourne. Visitors welcome.

MONDAY CLUB: Senior citizens Monday Club meets at Polegate Community Centre from 2pm to 4pm. If you enjoy meeting people and playing games like crib, whist, rummikub, scrabble and dominoes please do come along. We start with tea and coffee and chat. We meet every Monday afternoon.

THE CRUCIFIXION: Composed by Sir John Stainer, is being performed by The Downland Singers at Trinity Church, Coppice Avenue, Lower Willingdon on Maundy Thursday at 3pm. Retiring collection for People Matter.
