Polegate pub helps nursing homes

CUSTOMERS and staff at The Old Polegate Station raised £362 from a giant Easter egg raffle held at the pub and restaurant.

This was donated to The Chaseley Trust, a charity administering two nursing care homes for people with severe physical disabilities.

The egg was won by Mrs Watson from Eastbourne, who kindly donated it to the Demelza Children’s Hospice in Hailsham.

Chaseley’s Fundraiser Christine Ellis said: “We greatly appreciated the support of staff and customers at The Old Polegate Station, not just for this fantastic donation, but also for their constant feeding of our collecting tin on the premises. The raffle winner was also very generous to give the egg to the Demelza hospice.”
